My new favorite.Sandwhiches are awesome! Also have had plantains, yucca and empanadas,all very good.Try and have other entree's and their excellent coffee and desserts.I tried "ropa vieja" and was so good.Wilson, the owner and his staff Jose and Jasmine are so nice and welcoming.They will help you practice your Spanish! Nice cuban music playing and a charming space that will make you want to visit Havana.
I LOVE this place!! I live in Illinois and when we come to visit my brother in Fort Wayne, we make it a point to stop by Laz’s. This most recent trip, we went a few times specifically for the Cuban coffee. The food is amazing, the empanadas and yucca fries are a must!! The cilantro dipping sauce that comes with everything is pure magic. A lot of people complaint about the price, however I can tell everything is homemade, from scratch, and you really get what you pay for here. If you want a cheap lunch, go to McDonalds. If you want fresh food with an authentic vibe and lots of flavor, go to Laz’s! I wish you guys could DoorDash me a Bombon right now! Can’t wait for my next trip to Fort Wayne!
Looking for the best Cuban sandwich in Fort Wayne and most likely NE Indiana? It's at Laz's Cuban Cafe. Hands down, no questions asked, it's the best and most authentic Cuban sandwich I have had since moving to Fort Wayne 6 years ago. The bread is outstanding. It gets crispy on the outside and still soft and warm on the inside. Perfect amount of ingredients for a Cuban. Not too thick, but for sure not to thin. The cook on it is spot on. So many times you order a Cuban and the inside of the sandwich is stone cold. The Cuban at Laz's was perfectly cooked all the way through, no cold spots at all. Only downside is it's a 30 min drive from where we live. However, when we are craving a Cuban sandwich, this is where we go. The ladies that work there are outgoing and really make you feel welcome. The type of people that you walk away smiling after interacting with them. Wife and I had lunch there on Monday. We split the Cuban and also the Miami. The Miami is good, but if you like Cubans - it's a must order. Ownership, management, and the stores team should be really proud of the experience they provide. Will be going back anytime I crave a Cuban sandwich!
We stopped by Laz' Cuban Cafe for dinner. We got the classic Cuban Sandwiches, Coke made with real sugar, and some cake. Service was friendly and was able to answer questions and make recommendations. The dining room is very spacious and each table is decorated.
Tried the loaded breakfast sandwich and was not disappointed! This place is cute inside and very unique to the area. Great Cuban coffee, desserts, and sandwiches. Lots of parking available, give this a try for lunch next time you’re in the area!!
I can't get over how amazing this place is! The food was incredible, the staff were so friendly, the atmosphere was perfect! I spoke with Velma who runs the restaurant and she was born in Cuba and raised on this food. They used a bunch of Laz's grandmother's recipes even! So you are getting at authentic as you can get Cuban food AND coffee! I tried for my first time the authentic Cuban sandwich and it was perfect! I tried the yuca fries and they were so good! I've never tried those before but I will definitely get them again. I need to try the sweet fried plantains next time though because Velma said it's her favorite. I also got a shot of the Cuban coffee and it was so perfectly smooth and sweet and delicious! I can't say enough food things about this restaurant! You have to give it a try! I only came up to the shopping mall to go to the post office but then I saw this Cuban restaurant and I was already hungry and I love a good Cubano. I ended up trying the Pan con Lechon which pretty much saved my life, it was that amazing!! I wasn't on my phone or with anybody so I just delighted in the flavor of this sandwich. Then I took home a Tres Leches and holy shit it's soo good! I have had some sad and dry tres leches but this one is soaked and delicious as it should be!! Also they have great music playing at a good background volume but still enough to hear the music. The restaurant is very clean and well kept, and the employees are helpful with a friendly smile. I'm definitely coming back here sometime soon to try their other food options!!
Stopped in to try a their traditional Cuban sandwich and it was amazing. Huge sandwich and great flavors. Bright and welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Definitely highly recommended. Can’t wait to come back and try more items from their menu and of course the coffee!
